How to never settle for mediocrity and find purpose in life

At some point in our lives, all of us are faced with the question, “Why am I here and what is the meaning of life?”. This question makes a lot of us feel overwhelmed. We end up searching tirelessly for the answer to this question, and when we don’t find it we give up. We choose a life of mediocrity instead of living a meaningful life, the life that our soul intended for. Finding a Purpose in Life

If you don’t feel excited and passionate about life every single day, then something needs to change. Don’t be the person that wakes up unhappy, dreading the day ahead of you. In YouAreTheKey I suggest you these 4 steps that helped me and could help you move things off the ground:

1. Adopt a growth mindset

Get into the right mindset, don’t let limiting beliefs and stereotypes hold you back, believe in yourself. Give yourself a chance to change step by step to the best version of you. Discovering your life’s purpose is a slow and personal process, so be patient and open minded through it all. The most important step is to believe that you have a purpose in life and you are capable of discovering and fulfilling it.

2. Discover your passions Finding a Purpose in Life

Take a pen and list what you like to do. What brings you joy and what makes you come alive? Which were your favourite things to do or play as a child? What things make you feel excited to get out of bed? Write down 20-30 things you love. I believe they are your compass and lead you to where you are meant to go.

Some of my interests and passions are: Personal development courses, leading and inspiring teams, luxury hospitality management, mental health, traveling, outdoor walks, nature, yoga, meditation, music, boxing, spending time with my loved ones, and many more…

3. Create a vision of your ideal life

Read about the different categories of life and analyse yours. I highly encourage you to have a look at the course Lifebook Online. Taking the course will help you visualise your life in different dimensions and will naturally show you the way towards harmony and well-being. You will find the path that allows you to reach your fullest potential and be the greatest version of yourself.

4. Step outside yourself

Think about yourself as a part of the world. What were you doing when you made an impact on someone else’s life? How did it make you feel? What causes do you care about? What grieves frustrate you the most about this life and society?

Personally, I feel strong about touching people’s life and helping people around me feel healthier and happier. I am particularly touched by poor children and communities in different countries around the world – such as Haiti where I traveled to in 2017 – that don’t have the same chance as I got when I was a kid.

The start of a new journey…

Finding your purpose in life isn’t the end goal. It is the beginning of a life-long journey. Every day is a new opportunity to create the life that you want and become the person that you desire to be, while fully enjoying the process. When you find your reason and start living on purpose, life takes on a whole new meaning. You feel happy, fulfilled, and free. Is there any better feeling in this world?
